Fermi America ($FRMI) IPO: Building AI Data Centers with Its Own Power Plants
Fermi America ($FRMI) is seeking to raise about $500 million in a dual Nasdaq–London IPO to fund its bold HyperGrid project—a Texas campus designed to pair 18 million square feet of AI-ready data centers with up to 11 GW of its own power generation. Co-founded by former U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry, the company is pitching a rare mix of political connections, energy-sector expertise and heavy institutional backing as it targets the surging demand for AI computing capacity and reliable large-scale electricity. With pre-IPO financing from Macquarie and plans for natural-gas and nuclear generation, Fermi hopes to become a one-stop infrastructure provider for hyperscalers and AI firms. Gator Capital: WEX Inc. ($WEX) Investment Case
Gator Capital Management invested in WEX Inc. ($WEX), a payments company trading at 9.7x 2026 earnings despite its capital-light business model with strong customer retention and robust free cash flow generation, believing the market overreacts to temporary leverage concerns following a March 2025 tender offer. The firm sees upside from the company’s commitment to deleveraging, 10% share buyback program, acquisition moratorium at current valuations, and activist investor Impactive Capital’s 7% stake pushing for operational improvements and board accountability. Gator Capital expects significant multiple expansion as deleveraging progresses and investors recognize WEX’s high-quality recurring revenue streams in fleet fuel cards, health savings accounts, and corporate payments. CoreWeave ($CRWV) Insider Selling Continues at Scale
Magnetar Financial, a major shareholder of CoreWeave ($CRWV), has continually been selling shares since the company’s post-IPO lockup period expired. This week it again unloaded a big chunk—multiple transactions totaling well over half a billion dollars—at prices mostly between $120 and $132 per share, trimming its vested holdings by a few percentage points. CoreWeave’s stock has climbed nearly 40% over the past month amid the ongoing AI rally, and Magnetar’s steady sales highlight its move to capitalize on those gains while the shares remain in demand..
