How do I exercise an option position?

If your option position is in-the-money on the expiration date, we will automatically exercise the option on your behalf after the market close on the expiration date.

• Important: Please ensure that you have sufficient funds/equities to complete the exercise, otherwise we will be required to issue a Do Not Exercise notice to the OCC, and the option will expire worthless. Early liquidation, by liquidating the position in the open market prior to the expiration date, is the only way to avoid the risk of having insufficient funds/equities.
